A guardian is a person assigned by the court, if not previously designated by another in writing, to oversee the personal affairs, or finances, or both, of an incapacitated person or a minor.  A guardianship may be sought in the case of a minor, an elderly person, or anyone who, as a result of medical or other reasons, are no longer able to make decisions with regards to their person or estate such as entering into contracts or making medical decisions.  We have attorneys experienced in managing complex guardianships and can assist you in all aspects of guardianship proceedings.
